- First, pick one article from each part and provide the following:
- 25 word summary
- If there was a Paper 3 question dealing with supply chains, what are three pieces of actual information from each article that you could use in a high quality response.
- What type of threat (with a brief explanation) is it to the global supply chain
- Political
- Economic
- Physical
- Environmental
- Next, you remember 1 pagers....right? Well here we go again!
- IB says you need to know about two detailed examples to illustrate geopolitical tension/conflict
- This is under the heading of "The correlation between increased globalization and renewed nationalism/tribalization
- You can do one on China and Japan
- And you can do the other on Russia / Ukraine but instead of focusing on the 2014 invasion you can deal with the one currently happening!

Watch the YouTube clip below and write down how tax havens could potentially be a threat to the political and economic sovereignty of states?

Spend five minutes searching the web for articles on companies that avoid paying tax or repatriating their profits. Write the name of the company and the country that is complaining.

What is the pattern of countries that are demanding TNCs repatriate their profit to the country of origin.
- Detailed examples
- Now you have an idea why this is an important issue for countries and how it can impact their political and economic sovereignty we are going to focus on two key examples; Apple and Amazon.
- What are countries doing to
- Pick an HIC (but not the US) and do a bit of research on how they are addressing tax avoidance
- How specifically is tax avoidance impacting that nation (numbers kiddos!)?
- How are they addressing the issue? Again, specificity is key here!
